Four details that change your fence quantities

Perimeter is only the start. Corners, gate openings and component spacing matter too.

Four details that change your fence quantities

01 / PLANNING NOTES

Measure each run

A rectangle’s perimeter is the sum of two widths and two lengths. For irregular plots, record each side separately. On a slope, a horizontal plan measurement can differ from the installed run.

02 / PLANNING NOTES

Mark gate openings

Gate openings reduce the wire or panel length, but the gate still needs supports and connections. Record the side and the position of each gate.

03 / PLANNING NOTES

Count shared corners correctly

A corner is shared by two neighbouring runs. Counting it twice, or omitting it, gives the wrong post total. Check run ends and gate posts separately.

04 / PLANNING NOTES

Confirm the estimate on site

The Boundary Planner explores these relationships in a preliminary plan. Default spacings are calculation inputs, not confirmation of product suitability. Final quantities require site measurements and the actual selected product dimensions.
